I recently decided that I would install Windows 7 on my MacBook Pro (15″ Late 2008). So I purchased the disk, then attempted to use Boot Camp Assistant to install it. But a problem kept appearing, saying that I must erase my Mac and re-install Mac OS X then try again.
Obviously I am not going to do this so I manually went into Disk Utility and partitioned 100 GB (of my 500 GB) to my new partition, and then shutdown, plugged the disk in, and installed, everything went smoothly. After installing, and setting up, I was presented with my desktop, which was when I discovered a few problems: No right click (so I have to use a mouse), no sound, no microphone, no keyboard back-light, no multi-touch, and none of the controls that allow you to control brightness, keyboard back-light, or sound.
After some research, I found that I needed some sort of driver(s) to get these features to work. I then came to the Apple Support site, where I could download versions of Boot Camp for Windows7, I then downloaded one of these, and when I tried to install, it said that you need … version of Boot Camp. After downloading … version of Boot Camp, it said I needed and older version of Boot Camp. This obviously wasn’t working as these were all upgrades.
Do you have any idea how to fix this problem?

Creating a separate Partition without getting the latest version of BootCamp Assistant was a huge mistake.
AND, you have to Upgrade your MacBook Pro to OS X Snow Leopard (10.6.x), or better, OS X Lion (107.x) before you can move to the latest version of BootCamp. And, you may need to ADD more RAM, as well.
Finally, under Snow Leopard, or Lion, run the latest version of BootCamp, and follow the Prompts to install W 7.
Do you have the original Disks that came with your mac. That should have BC drivers specific to your machine.
